First brewed to celebrate the arrival of the new Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier in its home port of Portsmouth Royal Dockyard and maintained as a seasonal beer since. Q.E is brewed with Sovereign for depth and bittering qualities balanced with Northern Brewer and Target hops to provide aroma. The distinctive citrus aroma is complemented by a smooth deep aromatic malt flavour from Belgian Chateau arome malt giving mouthfeel and a soft nougat flavour, the finish is very definite fruity bitterness.
